What is the band practice room?
Open to any Oxy student, the Practice Room is a space to rehearse music, write songs, and jam out. Located below the Norris Green patio, the room is fully backlined with a PA system, drum set, bass amp, guitar amp, keyboard, and microphones.
Throughout the year, KOXY provides performance opportunities for artists who use the Practice Room. This is where you can crank up the volume and take your music to the next level—solo or with your band! KOXY operates the Practice Room in partnership with REHS and SLICE.
How can I access the room?
To use the Practice Room, you must receive training and card access first. Here’s how:
- Attend a training session (every Sunday from 2-3pm in the Practice Room) and fill out the Practice Room Agreement Form.
- KOXY will send your A# to Card Services to grant access to the room. If you are part of a band, a primary member will be given card access, and a secondary member as needed.
- KOXY will email you when your card access is approved.
- Sign up for a time slot and start jamming!
